The wood quality exceeded my expectations will buy again as long as available.
The neck blanks I ordered exceeded my expectations and were reasonably priced to boot. Will definitely order from Maximum Guitar Works again. I also ordered a template set which made the build I was working on easy and accurate. There was a small problem with one of the templates; it was quickly taken care without question. Great customer service and support.
Beautiful quarter sawn neck banks that arrived in just a few days. Fantastic quality of both products and services!!
I have bought the quarter sawn maple neck blanks several times. I buy about 4 at a time. This is truly the best neck blanks out there. I’ve bought from other companies and they just aren’t as striaght and perfect.
The quality of all the tone wood I've purchased from Maximum Guitar Works has been amazing!
It was a nice change of pace from spraying, and provides a great alternative that I can apply inside, and everyone loved the citrus smell. As for the necks, the look and feel of this finish is incredible. Flame maple looked fantastic! Great product! Thanks
Solid and beautiful knobs (gold). Put them on a pseudo 58 V with a mahogany body and a ziricote top that is trimmed in gold hardware.
I bought both the plain, and bound 22 fretboard templates to augment my collection of vintage style MDF bolt on neck templates.
They came shipped in three piece cnc cut to match cardboard sandwich for extra protection; which incedentaly makes a handy storage container.
These templates are very high quality, precise and durable. The built in hardened steel drill guides make neck to fretboard alignment for glue up a breeze. Another nice feature is that they are not prone to denting as easily as mdf.
My only reservation in buying the bound fretboard template was that it is designed to be .060" smaller than the neck which accomodates most plastic binding @ .065" thick. I understand the logic. My preference in the past has been to use wood binding due to plastic's shrinkage issues with aging, and the cost of shipping celluloid, but the quality of these template and the ease of use has made me reconsider these personal prejudices.
Perhaps being forced to thin down wood binding stock in order to take advantage of these templates will knock me out of my comfort zone and force me to look at materials differently. In any case, it's always good to have another tool in the drawer that can help make buiding faster and more precice. thx
I’ve been building custom guitars for over 20 years, and I wanted to give his system a try - wish I would have found his templates 20 years ago!!
It works perfect with my sliding template holder on my tablesaw couldn’t be happier
